2010
  • Afexa adopts a Shareholder Rights Plan designed to encourage the fair and equal treatment of shareholders
  • Afexa appoints a new Chief Legal Officer and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development
  • Afexa announces record quarterly revenue of $29.5 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2010
  • Afexa announces that the Company has changed its fiscal year-end from September 30 to March 31 to better align its financial-reporting and –planning with its natural business cycle
2009
  • CV Technologies changes its name to Afexa Life Sciences and its ticker symbol to TSX:FXA to better convey the company’s rigorous life-sciences orientation
  • New Chief Executive Officer appointed
  • Company launches the new year-round immune-booster – IMMUNITY-FX™
  • Afexa broadens its scientific direction in launching a pilot trial on a new formula geared to lower cholesterol
  • COLD-FX® gains distribution in Hong Kong and Macau through a partnership with a Hong Kong-based health care company
  • COLD-FX receives top sports certification in North America from NSF International
  • Company reaches a settlement agreement with the Alberta Securities Commission in respect to an investigation into disclosure matters associated with the restatement of the Company’s audited financial statements for fiscal year 2006
  • COLD-FX chosen as the Official Cold and Flu Remedy of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games
  • Canadian Olympians and Paralympians get $ 1 million worth of COLD-FX to help protect them as they pursue Olympic gold
2008
  • U.S. National Cancer Institute – the most important cancer research body in the world – sponsors landmark trial of COLD-FX to protect Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia patients from colds and flu
  • Four-city, three-university trial of COLD-FX shows it significantly supplements the effectiveness of the flu shot and cuts colds and flu by one-third
  • Preliminary results of Hackensack Clinical Trial show COLD-FX affects the immune system by targeting the ‘adaptive pathway’
  • Company opens new headquarters and research facility in Edmonton
  • Company chosen the 9th fastest growing company in Canada in Profit magazine’s ranking of the top 100

  • American Botanical Council’s published scientific review concluding COLD-FX has “impressive benefits”.
  • COLD-FX named #1 Pharmacist Recommended Natural Cold Remedy in Canada by Pharmacy Post magazine.
  • CV Technologies appoints new Chief Operating Officer.
  • Alberta’s Capital Health announces stockpiling of COLD-FX as part of influenza pandemic preparedness planning.
  • COLD-FX included in the 2007 Physicians Desk Reference® - used by most U.S. doctors, hospitals and pharmacies.
  • Clinical Trail begins at Hackensack University Medical Centre in New Jersey to determine if COLD-FX can improve the immune health of front line medical workers.
2006
  • CV Technologies selected as Marketer of the Year by Marketing magazine.
  • CV Technologies begins trading on Toronto Stock Exchange (CVQ).
  • Company President Dr. Jacqueline Shan selected as Chinese Canadian Entrepreneur of the Year.
  • FDA clears COLD-FX to be sold in the U.S.
  • Wholly-owned subsidiary COLD-FX Pharmaceuticals (USA) Inc. activated.
  • Positive results announced from pre-clinical cancer study at McGill University.
  • Hockey legend Mark Messier signed as Company spokesman.
  • Gold medal winner for fastest growing small cap company in North America by Nutrition Business Journal.
  • Construction of $9.5 million office headquarters and research centre announced.
  • fX Life Sciences International established in Switzerland.
  • North American partnership announced with the NHL.
  • COLD-FX launched in the U.S.

2005
  • McGill University begins COLD-FX cancer study.
  • COLD-FX to be studied as ‘standard of care’ flu treatment in Canadian nursing homes.
  • Q1 & Q2 combined sales of $21 million.
  • ACNielsen® ranks COLD-FX the number one selling cold and flu product in Canada.
  • The Canadian Medical Association Journal CMAJ publishes results of clinical trial # 7.
  • CV Technologies posts year-end sales of $31.9 million and net profit of $10.1 million.
  • The TSX Venture Exchange selects CV Technologies as its top performing company in 2005.
2004
  • Journal of the American Geriatrics Society publishes results of trial involving seniors at five U.S. nursing homes.
  • Edmonton’s Chief Medical Officer of Health and an internationally recognized nutritional biochemist from the University of Alberta launches Clinical Trial # 7 of COLD-FX.
  • Launched REMEMBER-FX® in Canada for memory improvement and protection of brain cells from degeneration.
  • Don Cherry becomes company celebrity spokesperson.
  • International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism publishes results of University of Manitoba doping trial.
  • CV Technologies reports sales increase of 800% in 2004 over fiscal 2003.
  • Edmonton’s Chief Medical Officer of Health and an internationally recognized nutritional biochemist from the University of Alberta release results of Trial # 7 and call them "statistically highly significant."
  • Over 4,000 Canadian pharmacies, food and health care stores stock COLD-FX, almost triple the number over winter of 2003.
  • Extensive media coverage of results of Trial # 7 including six TV network newscasts, 20 major dailies and 20 radio stations.
  • CV Technologies reports first profitable year in company’s history.
2003
  • Edmonton’s Medical Officer of Health and an internationally recognized nutritional biochemist from the University of Alberta launched Clinical trial # 7 of COLD-FX. More than 800 people volunteered.
  • CV Technologies signed agreement with Canadian Sports Centre Calgary to provide COLD-FX to 300 Olympic Athletes.
  • Dr. Jacqueline Shan, CV Technologies president & Chief Scientific Officer, is confirmed as CEO.
2002
  • U.S. & Australian Patent & Trademark Offices grant patents for both COLD-FX process & composition.
2001
  • CV Technologies became the first natural health products company to successfully complete a U.S. FDA Phase II IND clinical trial. Results released.
2000
  • U.S. Patent & Trademark Office issued CV Technologies with a patent for its proprietary ChemBioPrint® technology and NURITE-FX®/ REMEMBER-FX product.
  • DuPont Consumer Health paid CV Technologies $1 million to conduct a comparison study of 200 natural health products using ChemBioPrint technology.
  • CV Technologies launched Trial # 6 of COLD-FX in a doping study involving high performance athletes at the University of Manitoba.
1999
  • National Research Council of Canada and AVAC Ltd. each invested $0.5 million to help fund Phase II Clinical Trial of COLD-FX and development of ChemBioPrint technology.
  • U.S. FDA approved and issued an Investigational New Drug (IND) # for Phase II trials (# 4 & # 5) of COLD-FX involving seniors at five U.S. nursing homes.
  • Trial # 4 launched.
  • Health Canada issued CV Technologies a Drug Identification Number (DIN) for COLD-FX.
1997
  • CV Technologies conducted Clinical Trial (# 3) of COLD-FX involving Edmonton seniors.
  • CV Technologies conducted Phase I Clinical Trials of REMEMBER-FX, AD-FX® & PRESSURE-FX®.
1996
  • CV Technologies began Clinical Trials (# 1 & # 2) of COLD-FX involving the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club.
  • CV Technologies began limited test marketing of COLD-FX and other products in selected health food stores.
  • CV Technologies was listed on the Alberta Stock Exchange under the symbol CVQ.
1995
  • CV Technologies began developing its ChemBioPrint technology.
1992
  • CV Technologies incorporated under the Alberta Business Corporations Act to do contract pharmaceutical research.
